Last year, Audible released a star-studded audio adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s classic comic series Sandman, which covered the events of the first three graphic novels: Preludes & Nocturnes, The Doll’s House, and Dream Country.
Now, Yahoo! Entertainment reports that Audible has greenlit two further seasons of the graphic novel adaptation, The Sandman: Act II and The Sandman: Act III, which will once again be narrated by Gaiman.
According to Yahoo, Act II will adapt the next four volumes, Season of Mists, Distant Mirrors, A Game of You, and Convergence, while Act III will cover Brief Lives and Worlds Ends.
That schedule leaves a couple of additional graphic novels, The Kindly Ones and The Wake, as well as a more recent revival of the series, Overture, which commemorated the comic’s 25th anniversary. Presumably, Audible will tap into those projects for further seasons if the company opts to continue it.
Yahoo said that Audible hasn’t confirmed the cast for the next two installments, which featured the likes of James McAvoy (Morpheus), Kat Dennings (Death), Targon Egerton (John Constantine), Michael Sheen (Lucifer), Riz Ahmed (the Corinthian), Andy Serkis (Matthew the Raven), and others. Along with Gaiman’s return as narrator and executive producer, Dirk Maggs, who directed the first part, will also return to adapt and direct.
Audible didn’t announce when either installment would be released. It’s not the only Sandman project in the works: Netflix is currently adapting the comics for a live-action TV series.
